Treatments

Spine Diseases

Surgical intervention is applied in traumatic diseases of the spine such as accidents and injuries, spinal canal narrowing and slipping in the waist, as well as congenital diseases that occur in old age. In addition, diseases such as lumbar and cervical herniated discs are treated by neurosurgeons. In the "Minimally invasive spine centre", where lumbar hernia, cervical hernia and spinal reinforcement (instrumentation) surgeries are performed with microsurgical and endoscopic surgical methods, rehabilitation services are planned together with the physiotherapy department. Minimally invasive pain interventions, i.e. non-surgical interventional treatments for pain, are also carried out within this discipline.

Spinal diseases are mostly related to old age. The spine, which is exposed to the most load throughout life, wears out over time. This can lead to muscle and joint pain, herniated discs in the lower back and neck, as well as trauma-related lesions, tumours, congenital disorders, spinal infections and deformities. There are two different types of deformities. The first of these is scoliosis, i.e. the curvature of the spine sideways, and the second is kyphosis, i.e. the curvature of the spine forwards. Spinal diseases are treated according to the diagnosis and diagnosis of the disease.
